Frightmares and Valleyscare reviews. (And hopefully other haunts, too!)

Ok, so here, I will TRY to write in depth reviews of all the mazes. Some of them might not be as accurate as the rest (Specifically, Frightmares), due to me going through them a lesser amount of times.

Warning: There will most likely be spoilers for some of the mazes!

I'll start off with Haunted Hollow at Frightmares (I copied my review from a different thread, and am putting it on here to keep things organized).

It was LONG. Not only that, but I found the actors more-so trying to portray their characters and get a mental scare more then the "BOO!" scares. At least, in the "Gypsy Camp" area.

Ok, so, I'll give a very basic walkthrough and what I personally thought of it.

First, you walk through an archway/doorway with what appeared to be automatic doors. On the top of the door was a talking animatronic(SP) skull. Although it was kind of cheesy, it was awesome. After walking through the gate, you got to walk up one of the longest "magic carpets" in the world. Although not actually part of the maze, it was incredibly amazing. As you approached the top of the hill, you could hear an ominous drum beat. This gave me chills. Walking down the hill, the first "scene" you come across is a gypsy camp. Not so much a startle scary, more of a mental scary. The actors SOLD their parts, trying to stay in character rather than going for the "easy" scares. Leaving the Gypsy camp, you had to walk under a hanging man, which the actors acknowledged, giving a minor prop greater meaning.

Next came the "Hellside" part, as Matt called it. More burlap walls than corn, although the actors had GREAT camo. They got me GOOD, a large amount of times. And, it is an actual maze. There were MANY ways to go. I don't know how many actors were actually in it, there could have been only two, but man, they got me GOOD.

After that came the cemetery. Think BBC only 10 times better minus the fog. ALL of the actors were top notch. Instead of being out of character when it was slow, they all crowded around me. At least 7 of them. In a circle around me. I couldn't walk. It was amazing.

Next, there was a long path of haybales. There were only two actors throughout the whole path, which was very disappointing, to say the least. However, they did a phenomenal job. The scarecrow, although on the other side of the haybales, REALLY creeped me out. He/she moved very unnaturally, and kept following us, off of the path we were walking, making not a sound. Kind of like Hellside, only creeper, just, way more open.

And finally, the most disappointing part was the shed of nothingness. However, this part probably freaked me out the most in Haunted Hollow. I believe it was because it was nerve-racking. I kept expecting someone to jump out of me, but it never happened, which, IMO, made it a tons scarier. Also, I was kicking something across the floor, only, I didn't know I was kicking something across the floor, so I thought I kept hearing someone trying to be all sneaky like, and it freaked me out good.

The rating scale is out of five.
